Thanks to Mercedes-Benz I spent the last days in lovely Munich, taking part in their blogger workshop Faszination für alle Sinne (fascination of all senses) including an unforgettable evening at Oktoberfest.

The workshop made us experience cars in relation to the senses (hearing, seeing, smelling, feeling). The sense of taste was represented by molecular cuisine. Even if cars were not my major interest until now and I certainly don’t know a lot about them, it was really interesting to listen to the experts and to get an impression of the different steps of production and design development at Mercedes-Benz. I especially enjoyed the presentations by Sabine Engelhardt (Society & Technology Research Group) on the creation of a perfume for Maybach and by Martin Bremer (Senior Manager Design Color & Trim) on the use of different kinds of leather and wood for the interior. I never imagined how much effort is behind designing a car!

The beautiful Sofitel hotel.

The workshop.

Molecular cuisine: Melon “caviar”.
