I don’t use the word “hate” that often. But i really hate musicals, no matter if stage musicals or musical films. But sometimes because of your studies you’re forced to deal with something you aren’t so into. So did i. And thats the reason why i have to post you some pictures and dancing scenes of the marvellous Hollywood ballet star Cyd Charisse. In contrary to all the other constantly smiling starlets she is a trained classical ballet dancer and -even more important- she has this special something, maybe even something elegant, dark and mysterious.

In Nicolas Ray’s gangster film Party Girl she has only has two dancing scenes, but (no wonder when Ray does a dance movie) those two rock. Even Tarantino said he’s been extremely inspired by this movie.
