Mid of March another Weekday collaboration will hit the stores: The collection of London based danish Peter Jensen was presented yesterday along a relaxed and cosy press brunch in a super nice old-fashioned place in the old town of Copenhagen.
One of my main reference points for the collection was a photo of me as a small child with my grandmother. I wanted the collection to embrace this 70s Scandinavian atmosphere while still feel contemporary and clean so to obtain this I chose a very classic palette.
- Peter Jensen
Peter Jensen celebrates fine, classically summery stripes in diverse variations but there’s always a quirky detail like partial mismatch of the pattern, shiny buttons or applicated tassles. Peter told me his grandma had an armchair decorated with such tassles.
As often in the Weekday collabs you can recover the designer’s signature styles in modified and affordable versions. Why this fact is very important to Jensen and where he draws the inspiration for his own label designs you can find out in the interview Dario from Stil in Berlin and I did yesterday:
Photos of the event will follow up later!
