Soulland Summer 2012 (Copenhagen Fashion Week)
Silas Adler from the danish label Soulland never disappoints. As he designed a stamp for the Danish Post he draw some inspiration for the 2012 Summer Collection from the danish post uniforms in history and now.
“The Postmodern collection references post inspired items like the striped mailman shirt, the mailman blazer and Post Danmark logo sweaters. I really enjoy working with uniforms but it can leave a collection looking a bit hard, so I softened up the feeling for spring/summer by adding roses to the inspirational mix.”
In this summer collection I like the especially the raglan cut for suit shirts, the logo sweaters, the jackets and coats in general featuring all those lovely details like contrast coloured collars, the romantic rose print as little twist (only combined, please) and this beautiful colour mixture of different very light yellow and off-white shades.
It’s a pity he doesn’t do woman’s wear yet, but I think it’s also great to get inspired by details, colour combinations and the whole mood of a men’s collection. Men’s collections are often a bit more casual than women’s wear, so it’s easier to make up wearable everyday looks from the inspirations you get there.
